Round 3 at Fallen Oak in Saucier, Miss., had it all on Thursday, from an amazing rally to a stunning title-saving bunker shot. And in the end, 54 holes were not enough for the third event of The PRO Tour season. (All photos by Brad Puckett)

After coming oh-so-close in The PRO Tour's first two events, former MLB slugger Aaron Hicks picked up the hardware at Fallen Oak on Thursday. This one didn't come easy, either, as he needed a playoff to get past Garrett Graham.

Former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo gave it a good run – including three straight birdies – but still came up seven points short of making the playoffs a three-person affair.

One of this biggest storylines of the week at Fallen Oak was the growing rivalry between Commissioner John Smoltz and fellow former major leaguer Josh Donaldson (pictured). Known as The Bringer of Rain during his playing days, Donaldson rained on Smoltz's parade Thursday, edging him by one point.

Speaking of rain – or in this case, reign – Tyler Clippard's reign as the only player to win an event on The PRO Tour came to an end at Fallen Oak. But the former big-league pitcher was in the mix, finishing seven points out of the playoff.

The Commissioner gave it go on Thursday, And while he didn't get the win, he hit just enough putts to pick up a top 10.

Former NFL tight end Garrett Graham entered Fallen Oak as the leading football player on The PRO Tour. His runner-up finish to Aaron Hicks in a playoff did nothing to hurt his standings with his fellow gridiron warriors.
